Biomaterial or in part as implant material generally refers to synthetic or non-living natural materials or materials that are used in medical technology for therapeutic or diagnostic purposes and come into direct contact with biological tissue in the body. Biomaterials are materials that are used in medical technology. This includes permanent implants or temporary catheters as well as dentures or scaffolding structures for artificial tissue replacement in the field of regenerative medicine.
