Endoscopes

An endoscope is a device that can be used to analyze and control within living beings or specialized cavities. Endoscopy, known as the use of the endoscope, was originally developed for clinical diagnostics on humans. Today it is also used for negligibly intrusive, careful mediation to people and living beings as well as in innovation for the visual examination of hard-to-reach depressions.

The endoscopes include the inflexible and adaptable endoscopes and their subspecies. Different names are often used for endoscopes, depending on the manufacturer, e.g. B. for inflexible endoscopes: boroscopes or boroscopes, technoscopes, autoscopes, intrascopes; for adaptable fiber optic endoscopes etc. fiberscopes or flexoscopes.

The normal working dimensions of inflexible endoscopes are 1.6 to 19 mm. Semi-unbending endoscopes (also called versatile or semi-adaptable) are available from 1.0 mm, adaptable endoscopes from 0.3 to 15 mm and video endoscopes from 3.8 to 12 mm.

A non-diffractive endoscope (engl./techn. Untending Borescope) sends the image data of the object or space to be analyzed through a perspective frame inside the endoscope shaft to the eyepiece. The models are the specialized borescope and, in the clinical area, the arthroscope and cystoscope.

The pole focus point frame created by Harold H. Hopkins is limitless. Here the light is guided through polar focal points made of quartz glass and refracted via air focal points between the rods. This extremely brilliant development enables more modest focal lengths. Most current endoscopes alternatively offer the option of adjusting the image to the sharpness that is ideal for those who wear glasses by means of a centering ring close to the eyepiece. The light from the light source required for the assessment / examination is guided to the tip of the endoscope by means of the associated light aid, and additionally through groups of glass fibers in the shaft. The cost of an inflexible endoscope depends on the type of focal points used, the inspection / viewing points of the focal point, and the functional length or working width. By and large, this is a sum in the lower four-digit euro range. Inflexible endoscopes with rotating crystal, taking into account the target side, can look to the side in recesses. By turning the endoscope in its primary hub and then turning the crystal, which deflects the view, one can see a greater thickness in the cavity during the examination. A small, cleaned metal mirror, which is assigned to the endoscope focal point head with an adaptable wire and a push-on sleeve, does something comparable.

With an adaptable endoscope (or flexoscope or fiberscope, the name is mostly subordinate to the manufacturer), the image and light are sent through fiber optic groups. The models are the specialized flexoscope and, in the clinical area, the gastroscope, colonoscope, bronchoscope and arthroscope. The cardiovascular catheter also has its place in the endoscope class.

Fiberscopes / videoscopes are accessible from a practicable measurement with exchangeable instead of fixed focal points (front / side or vice versa) as are workstations for embedding micromechanical devices (small pliers or grippers) in the assessment or examination room. Customizable fiber optic endoscopes (fiberscopes) and video endoscopes (videoscopes) usually have a device tip that can be remotely controlled via inherent Bowden connections. Depending on the model and size, this can be calculated up to 180 ° on 2 (top-bottom) or 4 sides (top-bottom and right-left). The length of this tip can be between 30 and 70 mm, depending on the width. A component is incorporated into the handle of the gadget, which connects to the Bowden handlebars by means of inclined rods or handwheels and enables this development of the tip.

The most youthful subtype of adaptable endoscopes are video endoscopes, often also called videoscopes (English videosscope or video test), although the name depends on the manufacturer. Videoscopes open another section in current endoscopy as they leverage advanced innovations to create and send images. A chip connected to the focal point of the video endoscope (see also: computer camera) generates an image of the test object. With the CMOS chip, the image signal is digitized on the video chip so that the image transmitted to the video processor can be influenced less by electromagnetic impedance than with endoscopes with CCD chips, in which the simple signal of the chip only passes inside the endoscope outside the endoscope putative video processor is digitized for additional handling. A video processor prepares the image data and links it with assessment information and patient data before the images or video sequences
