New method in the field of chemical-film surface cleanliness

Determination of ionic impurities

An underestimated but important part of technical cleanliness is the investigation of ionic contamination. The increasing use of highly sensitive and compact electronics in the technically demanding automotive sector (fluctuating temperature/climate requirements) places increasingly strict requirements on the cleanliness of such components. Salt residues from soldering or electroplating processes often lead to corrosion damage.

CleanControlling has expanded its service portfolio to include the determination of ion-specific amounts of dissolved salts using IC (ion exchange chromatography). IC is a powerful tool for characterizing different salt-containing contaminants and quantifying them in the ppm range.
