Working group meeting "Mechatronics at universities" at the HFU campus in Tuttlingen

The working group meeting "Mechatronics at Universities" of the German Society for Mechatronics eV (DGM) took place this year at the University campus Tuttlingen of the Furtwangen University . The meeting was organized by the Tuttlingen-based mechatronics professor Dr. Martin Heine organized.

At the meeting in Tuttlingen, 20 professors from universities of applied sciences from all over Germany were represented. "The DGM asked me to get to know the location in Tuttlingen and in particular our teaching and research activities," explains Professor Heine. On site, the participants got to know the Tuttlingen model campus, the Bachelor and Master courses and the research activities of the Mechatronics department. Guided tours of the laboratories at the IFC - Innovation and Research Center Tuttlingen - gave them insights into the competence center for machining, as well as the laboratories 3D printing, electrical energy storage systems and materials technology.

The German Society for Mechatronics represents the interests of promoting engineering science in mechatronics in the field of higher education, science and technology as well as the bilateral transfer of knowledge between universities and business. The DGM working group meetings take place once a year at the various universities in Germany. The group consists of professors who teach and research in the field of mechatronics at the nationwide universities for applied sciences in Germany.
