Tuttlingen – From product development to post-market surveillance: In medical technology companies, digital support can be used for many tasks in order to complete them faster, more securely and more efficiently. More than 20 providers will show what is already possible in regulatory affairs and quality management at the 2nd information market of possibilities on May 4th in the Tuttlingen town hall.

The demands on medical technology can no longer be represented purely analogously, let alone mastered. This is what companies experience day after day – digitization is the order of the day. On the one hand, this saves human, time and financial resources, on the other hand, more security is gained in dealing with regulations and standards and errors are reduced. But it is not always immediately obvious in which area and with which tool to start. Or whether and how existing solutions can be sensibly supplemented and linked. This is where the information market of possibilities comes in.

The format premiered last fall. After the positive response, the concept and theme have been transferred to the second edition on May 4th. "There is still a need for an overview, for an in-depth dialogue, for best-practice solutions from medical technology," says Melanie Gebel. She takes care of "Events and Trade Fairs" at MedicalMountains GmbH. Both terms apply well to the information market of possibilities, which has the character of both an event and a trade fair. First, the providers involved “step into the ring” and, in four-minute pitches, get to the heart of what support they can provide. With these first impressions, the participants then go into the targeted expert discussion at the accompanying exhibition. More than 20 solution providers are represented. They cover a wide spectrum in the life cycle of a medical device and thus a wealth of challenges in regulatory affairs and quality management. These include product development, technical documentation and design history files, UDI and EUDAMED, document management, risk and test management, post-market surveillance, enterprise resource planning (ERP) and customer relationship management (CRM) or audit administration .

"Many are not even aware that there are digital helpers for so many areas," says Melanie Gebel with certainty. Already advanced companies took with them a number of insights and possible supplementary projects from the last information market. Others, who are still at the beginning, found it easier to get started with future-oriented, supportive digitization. "The first hurdle is the highest," says Melanie Gebel, "and we help to clear it." So that relief is created where the pressure is greatest, and then there is more room to turn to the really important issues of medical technology .
