Stricter controls in online grocery stores

The demand for groceries in online retail has risen annually and since Corona has even increased many times over. From June 2021, monitoring in online trading is also to be strengthened with the reform of the Food and Feed Code (LFGB).

Platforms that sell food from different suppliers online have to adjust to new obligations: The authorities will inform the platforms if they offer products that are not classified as safe and must delete the products from their platform.

Have your products checked as soon as possible so that they are not deleted! Bilacon supports manufacturers and distributors in checking their products so that they can be securely sold in stationary and online shops. We advise operators of online platforms for food to ensure that all food products sold online are legally compliant and that product deletions can thus be prevented.

There will also be more so-called online mystery shopping. The authorities will carry out anonymous test purchases, analogous to purchases from inspectors in stationary food retailing (LEH).

Bilacon also offers such anonymous test purchases, in which the goods and the delivery process are checked for various criteria. This way you can ensure that you are well prepared for regulatory checks and that you are delivering safe food to your customers. Together with you, we create an individual test plan and determine which parameters are particularly important for your products and what you have to pay attention to during delivery.
