Despite Corona: successful exchange at trade fair

Despite Corona, the "welcome advice" of the Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg business development and the Welcome Center on jobs and prospects in the region was in demand this year.

Wifög takes stock of the "Jobs for Future" in Villingen-Schwenningen

Region / Villingen-Schwenningen. Henriette Stanley is satisfied. The Welcome Center team and the managing director of the Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg Economic Development Corporation (Wifög SBH) held almost 220 discussions at Jobs for Future. Around 3,654 visitors came to the trade fair for jobs, training and further education in Villingen-Schwenningen over the weekend.

Quality instead of quantity - visitors were very targeted

“We had great people at the stand. Despite the Corona situation, many sought a conversation at the Wifög and Welcome Center stand. Above all, there were a few job seekers who came to the stand purposefully and with good documents, ”said Henriette Stanley, Managing Director of Wifög. A number of young people who had just moved here found out about training, studying, looking for a job and continuing education or were looking for contact with companies.

Visitors accept the pilot function well

The visitors to the Wifög stand were happy to receive direct advice. The advisors from the Economic Development Department and the Welcome Center also accompanied one or the other visitor directly to the other exhibitors at the fair. Some interested parties used the welcome advice and guide function of the Welcome Center. This is how they found the right contact person and the right information for their careers at the trade fair.

The visitors to the stand also benefited from the know-how of a Welcome Center expert from the Chamber of Industry and Commerce. She advised interested specialists on sectors such as industry, trade or services or on language courses.

Contact with companies and municipalities is important

In addition to all the conversations with job seekers, contact with companies and municipalities in the region is important, says Stanley: “In discussions with HR managers and managing directors, there was always a valuable exchange. The assistance that the Welcome Center and Wifög offer in the areas of recruiting, onboarding and foreign skilled workers are met with great interest. The networking activities that we offer at regional level are also gratefully accepted, ”says Wifög managing director Stanley.
