“Done - your product goes on sale” The trading partner requests GDSN data - what now?

Do you have an interesting product that you would like to sell through food retailers and have you convinced the retailers of your choice? Then nothing stands in the way of the product listing!

Do you have an interesting product that you would like to sell through food retailers and have you convinced the retailers of your choice? Then nothing stands in the way of the product listing!

Your product is almost on the shelf
Your buyer confirms that your product is almost on the shelf. All he needs is the electronic product description via the GDSN. What now?

Now is the time to hurry. You start googling, inquire with business partners you are friends with and even fear that the product listing you believed to be safe could fail in the last few meters. Why this hurdle at all?

Send us the data electronically - e.g. via GDSN
Many dealers require electronic data exchange. After the product listing, in addition to the physical product, a complete electronic GDSN data record is often expected for every product listed in the trade. But why the whole thing?

The abbreviation GDSN stands for "Global Data Synchronization Network". This is a worldwide network of data pools that are connected to one another via GDSN. All product master data stored in one of the data pools can be electronically exchanged and synchronized with one another. The manufacturer records his information once in a data pool of his choice and this data is made available to all affiliated trading companies at a central point.
Information such as weight, transport, or product names are important for trade and business processes, as well as for purchasing, logistics, sales and scheduling. But above all there are the legal requirements that neither young start-ups nor large brand manufacturers can ignore. And that's exactly why almost all major retailers rely on certified data exchange via GDSN. Standardized information should therefore not represent a hurdle, but rather help to exchange trustworthy and constant information with one another.

We at atrify have set ourselves the goal of making exactly this challenge the same for everyone, and in the same way simply. Regardless of whether you are a multinational company with hundreds of products or a small start-up with only three products. We support everyone in providing their product information.

Electronic data exchange - just get started
Are you curious and want to start right away? If you haven't already done so, all you need is a GLN (Global Location Number) and the required number of GTINs (Global Trade Item Number). Our colleagues at GS1 Germany will be happy to help you with this.

You then have the option of choosing your suitable product for electronic data exchange directly in our store or you can contact one of our friendly employees via chat, email or phone. To familiarize yourself with the product, you can optionally visit our free academy and complete a training course there. After that, the data only needs to be entered via a web browser in atrify publishing - various help functions and numerous videos support this. Once everything has been entered, extensive validations ensure the quality of the entries and your articles can be published and received by your trading partner. Nothing stands in the way of the product listing.

How did you feel about the process? I look forward to your comments.
