Centrifuge tubes

It is very important to know the difference between centrifuge tubes. The quality and performance of a tube depends on multiple factors. Therefore, you must carefully evaluate your requirements before choosing a particular tube. For example, you should only use centrifuge tubes with the same density as the samples that you plan to test. You should not balance a mixture of different liquids by adding equal amounts of water. This can lead to unbalanced and damaged sample.

Centrifuge tubes are made of different materials. The resistance of each material varies. Glass tubes are recommended, as they are sterilizable by autoclave. Fortunately, glass tubes are less expensive than their plastic counterparts, and they can be cleaned like other laboratory glassware. They also come with soft rubber sleeve closures, which prevent them from breaking and causing imbalances during the centrifugation process.

Glass centrifuge tubes can handle most solvents, but they tend to be more expensive. Regardless of the material, glass centrifuge tubes can be cleaned by hot water and is safer to use when compared to other laboratory glassware. Unlike plastic, glass tubes can be sterilized by autoclave. But if you are unsure of what kind of chemicals you will be using, you should consult a chemical resistance chart.

Microcentrifuges are commonly used in laboratories. They can separate fluids by density. They can also be used for purification of viruses, cells, nucleic acids, proteins, and organelles. Whole blood components can be separated with centrifuges. After a whole blood sample is spun, serum can be harvested. It's used to separate DNA from other components in the body. It can also be utilized as a test tube for identifying a specific gene or protein.

Microcentrifuges use disposable plastic "microlitre tubes". These are small-volume centrifuges. The microcentrifuge tubes usually contain 0.5- to two-millilitre samples. The bottles can range in size from 250 millilitres to one liter. The axis of a centrifuge is the main component of the device. It spins the sample at high speed. While the sample is spinning, the DNA fragments remain separate from other materials.

Plastic and paper centrifuge tubes are available in a variety of sizes and types. The 15 ml and 50 ml versions are easy to read. They are available in free standing or conical. The plastic and paper caps are available in blue or assorted colors. Products with an icon will be shipped via UPS 3 Day Select service. Other cases will ship via ground delivery and should arrive in a matter of one to three days.

Centrifuge tubes have a maximum speed. Usually, the maximum speed is 60 RPM, but some models can reach up to 100 RCF. The RCF is better, because it takes into account gravitational forces. A higher RCF will help you get the most efficient centrifuge. This is the best option for your specific situation. If you're trying to test the effect of different speeds, the rotor should rotate at a rate of at least 900rpm.
