Humeral head prostheses
The humeral head prosthesis replaces the humeral head with a metal replacement. The humeral head prosthesis is attached to a tapered titanium alloy stem, which fits inside the horn of the thigh. The patient is able to carry out normal activities after the surgery. However, the implant should be stable to avoid slipping and causing infection. The screw should be secure to limit the risk of fracture.
