X-ray protective windows are required by law for many applications in the medical field. They must offer clear visibility without compromising patient monitoring. They are available in various thicknesses and sizes. Some of the different types of X-ray windows include observation windows for CT scan, Fluoroscopy, and P.E.T imaging. These windows are typically made of lead lined glass. However, they may not be ideal for every medical application.

X-ray protective windows are designed to protect the entire structural opening from harmful ionizing and ultraviolet radiation. They are made of a high-quality lead-based material. The lead content in X-ray-protective windows is at least 50%. Some versions contain a higher percentage of lead. Depending on the application, they can have a range of shielding compositions and have different lead shielding values.

X-ray protective windows are available in a wide range of thicknesses. They can be lead-lined or non-lead-lined. The thickness of the X-ray protective glass is measured in millimeters, and it ranges from 4 to 25 mm. In addition, the thickness of the lead-lined protective glass is 0.5-0.7 mm. The lead-lined glass has a greater lead content than the non-lead-lined ones.

Another option is to apply a conductive film on the inside of the X-ray protective pane. This film can be a thin sheet of liquid crystals or a flexible sheet. A conductive layer can also be applied directly to the glass. The transparent film can also be arranged in such a way that the control elements are applied directly on the glass. In FIG. 1 a, the control element is a conductive film. The conductive surface extends beyond the window region and can be separated using a laser. Lamps may be provided outside the conductive film. The radiated films can be easily controlled by external means.

The lead thickness of Xray protective windows can vary. Usually, the lead thickness is 0.8 to 2 mm. It can be increased to increase the radiation protection. If the doorlights are within 24 inches of the opening, they must be made of a thicker material. Moreover, these windows must be affixed to the door with a special shielding device. If the doors are located inside a lab, the radiation protection glass must be attached to the doors.

X-ray protective windows are necessary in medical facilities and are also required by law. They should be made of lead liner glass. The glass used for these windows is made of lead-lined glass, which is more expensive than ordinary glass. It is important to ensure that the materials used for these windows are certified to prevent leakage from harmful radiation. It is therefore essential to conduct thorough research before making a final decision.
