(12/2021) The federal government has commented on the status of deliverable personal protective equipment. These also include products that were manufactured under framework agreements of the "Production in Germany" funding program.

As of September 3, 2021, the federal inventory of PPE ready for delivery comprised around 415 million PfH masks, 1.53 billion surgical masks, 21.1 million protective gowns, 26.2 million gloves, 2.4 million protective suits, 1st .4 million goggles and 4.7 million surgical caps. These include around 381 million FFP2 masks, 1.04 billion surgical masks and 9.5 million protective gowns that were manufactured under the "Production in Germany" framework agreements. This emerges from the response of the federal government to a small question from the FDP parliamentary group in October. The federal government decided on the first framework agreements with the award of the contract on April 15, 2020. There are currently 37 framework agreements that run until December 30, 2021. An application for the program to promote meltblown fleece was submitted 87 times, 26 of these projects were funded. In 2020, funding of around EUR 1.5 million was paid out in the filter fleece funding module, and EUR 24.3 million in 2021 (key date: September 15). However, the current filter fleece production volume of the subsidized systems is not recorded.

Figures for the "mask program"
In the so-called “mask program”, 474 funding applications were submitted for the sprinter funding module and 265 funding applications for the innovation funding module. In 2020, funding of around 8.3 million euros was paid out in the mask funding modules (sprinter and innovation funding module), in 2021 so far around 21.2 million euros (key date: September 15, 2021). 126 projects would be funded in the sprinter funding module and 44 projects in the innovation funding module. The systems funded in the innovation funding module had a production output of around 1.3 billion FFP masks and around 4.2 billion medical face masks. The application period runs until December 30, 2021. There are currently project applications for which the approval process has not yet been completed. In the 2021 federal budget, budget funds of 47 million euros were set aside for the program. However, the federal government does not plan to promote the production of FFP2 and/or MNS masks beyond 2021. So far, around 80.7 million FFP2 protective masks and around 278.4 million surgical masks have been distributed to federal states, authorities and institutions from the health and social sectors via the framework agreement. The federal government paid 100 percent of the delivered defect-free masks. As of September 7, 2021, 79 lawsuits are pending. The total value in dispute amounts to around EUR 418 million. In addition, there are three active actions by the Federal Ministry of Health in the amount of around 7 million euros. To date, 22 of the lawsuits against the Federal Republic of Germany have been withdrawn or otherwise settled; 22 comparisons have been closed. As of September 7, 2021, payments for legal disputes totaling around EUR 2.9 million had been made in connection with the open house procedure. Further payments cannot be estimated at this time. So far, the federal government has not destroyed any PPE or made any decision on the destruction of inventories.
