We are celebrating 10 years of KLS Martin Middle East

News

In this article, Manfred, Regional Sales Manager - Middle East, South Asia and Australia, reports on his experiences over ten years at KLS Martin Middle East.

After business in the Middle East – South Asia region had already developed well in previous years, the idea of strengthening our presence in this region came up. As an international hub, Dubai offered itself as a location for establishing a KLS Martin office. From Dubai it is only a 90-minute flight to our major markets such as Saudi Arabia and only about 3 hours to India. Even to Australia there is at least one direct flight.

I found it very exciting to discuss the various options for founding a company and the right location in Dubai. After extensive research, we then decided to set up a representative office.

In 2010 the time had come and I sat on the plane to Dubai with the difference from before that this time there was only a one-way ticket. In the first year I worked on the move - now normal, but back then still "exotic". In January 2011 we then officially founded KLS Martin Middle East and appropriately inaugurated our office during Arab Health. In the beginning I was still alone in the office, but other colleagues quickly joined and we are now 10 people on site. A colorful mix of Filipinos, Indians, Pakistanis, Egyptians and Germans.

We have a very good working atmosphere and most of the colleagues have been with us for well over 5 years, which is really unusual in the region. More colleagues will join in 2022.

In 2015 we established the KLS Martin office in India and supported our colleagues in founding KLS Martin Australia.

Looking back on 10 years of KLS Martin Middle East, one can say that the founding was worthwhile. We are perceived as a very strong brand in our markets and we are proud of that.

Personally, living abroad has been and still is a great experience. It broadens your perspective and gives you a wealth of experience. Over the years, I have seen and got to know Dubai as a city with many friendly and, above all, open-minded people.

I think it's a shame why there are fewer and fewer people, especially young people, who want to live abroad. I can recommend it to everyone!
