Allergology is a specialty that has been under threat since it is not recognized as a full specialty in the European Union. This has led to a decline in the number of young allergy specialists. The study aims to highlight the strengths and weaknesses of the allergy specialty in Europe. It also outlines opportunities for the field and barriers to access. The survey results will help to communicate with policy makers and strengthen the field. In order to ensure that the disease is recognised as a full specialty in Europe, it is vital that training in allergy increases.

Allergology is an important specialty that is gaining worldwide recognition. The discipline has become very multidisciplinary, with physicians working in different fields within the field. This multidisciplinary nature has led to competition and non-cooperation, and may lead to a reduction in trainees and physicians. Nevertheless, it is essential to ensure that there are adequate training opportunities for all. This is not an easy task. Allergology is a specialization that requires a great deal of education and training.

The training period varies in different countries. The number of years in full specialty training is generally four years and a subspecialty is two years. In some countries, the duration of full specialty training is two years. In other countries, however, the number of years spent in allergy is three to five years. The average length of training in allergy is about two years. The average number of trainees is 3.4. In some countries, the amount of time in the Allergology specialty is less than four years.

The EAACI Task Force for Allergy Disease was approved in 2015. The Specialty committee worked with the UEMS S&B Allergology section and a questionnaire was sent out to all delegates. In the same year, NASC designed a survey for National Societies. In 2017, these surveys will merge. In 2018, the EAACI Task Force will send a second questionnaire to UEMS S&B delegates and representatives of the NAS.

The World Allergy Organization (WAO) has produced a position paper for the profession of Allergy. It is the first global document for the field of allergy that provides structured information about medical devices used in the daily routine. It also provides information about the latest research in this area of medicine. There are many benefits to this interdisciplinary specialty. It can improve patient care and enhance communication. In particular, it can improve healthcare.

The main challenges faced by the specialty include the scarcity of products that are effective for immunotherapy and a lack of standardization in the field of allergy. The European Academy for Allergy and Clinical Immunology aims to be the most effective platform for scientific communication and education about the field. This helps it promote good patient care and ease the suffering of allergy patients. But it is also vital to identify the factors preventing allergy-related health problems.
