According to the Far Eastern origin of lean management, the five "S" form the initial letters of Japanese terms. However, they can also be freely translated into German - for example with "Sortieren" (sort out), "Sauberkeit" (tidy up), "Stellen" (put down neatly), "Saeubern" (clean) and "Self-discipline".
5S is the method that always makes you ask yourself: Why haven't we carried out this way of working ourselves or with all due diligence long ago? During the seminar and afterwards, the participants standardize processes in the workplace. In this way, only the items that are actually required are kept in the workplace and they are assigned exactly one place.
