DIN EN IEC 63000 has proven to be an effective means of supporting the implementation of material compliance requirements such as REACH, RoHS, California Proposition 65, etc. The aim of the standard is to define the procedure that a manufacturer should carry out in order to guarantee compliance with the legal substance restrictions that apply worldwide. In addition to the pure material-specific documentation of the end product - and thus also the purchased parts and materials - general documents such as the product description or the specifications documentation are also regulated within the scope of the documentation obligation. The requirements of global material compliance as well as the requirements of the standard mean that, on the one hand, the general requirements must be covered via an appropriate process landscape and, on the other hand, the material-specific requirements must be covered via a communication and documentation process.
