DIN EN IEC 63000 has proven itself as a proven means of supporting the implementation of material compliance requirements such as REACH, RoHS, California Proposition 65, etc. The aim of the standard is to define the procedure that a manufacturer should take to guarantee compliance with the worldwide legal substance restrictions. In addition to the pure material-specific documentation of the end product - and thus also the purchased parts and materials - general documents such as the product description or the specification documentation are also regulated within the scope of the documentation obligation. The requirements of global material compliance as well as the specifications of the standard mean that on the one hand the general requirements have to be covered by an appropriate process landscape and on the other hand the material-specific requirements have to be covered by a communication and documentation process.
