Salmonella in herbal mixtures

Salmonella was recently detected in various frozen herbal mixtures. Salmonella are flexible, gram-negative rods that humans can ingest through food. Eating foods contaminated with salmonella can lead to salmonellosis. Symptoms of salmonellosis include:

Food such as eggs, egg products, ice cream and raw meat are particularly often affected. But plant-based foods such as herbs can also be contaminated with salmonella.
