Microbiology

Microbiology is the science of studying microorganisms, their metabolism and their effects on other (macro) organisms. Microbiology and infection epidemiology together form an independent medical field. Microbiology works with an odd group of organisms, so that different sub-areas can be distinguished within the discipline: Medical microbiology deals with the effects of pathogenic and non-pathogenic microorganisms on the human body and its health. Technical microbiology is concerned with studying the metabolism of microorganisms in order to induce microorganisms to produce or metabolize certain substances using genetic or other methods. In addition to the production of drugs or food, the decomposition of toxic compounds is also important. Microbiology is the science of studying microorganisms, their metabolism and their effects on other (macro) organisms. Microbiology and infection epidemiology together form an independent medical field. Microbiology is the science and teaching of microorganisms, i.e. organisms that cannot be seen with the naked eye: archaea, bacteria, fungi, protozoa (ancient animals) as well as single-cell and few-cell algae (microalgae) and viruses that are not living beings. Microbiology is a branch of biology and medicine.
