BAV Institute expands its scope of accreditation to include culture media production and testing

The BAV Institute from Offenburg is pleased to announce that the recently conducted eight-day audit as part of the accreditation according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 was passed again. A particular highlight is that the production and testing of the culture media was successfully assessed according to DIN EN ISO 11133 and will therefore be part of the scope of accreditation of the BAV Institute in the future.

In addition to DIN EN ISO 11133, drug tests, the specifications of the European Pharmacopoeia and the corresponding GMP requirements are taken into account in the production and testing of culture media. These aspects were also successfully checked during the DAkkS audit (DAkkS = German Accreditation Body).

"Our laboratory is therefore one of the few accredited service laboratories, both nationally and internationally, which is also accredited for the production and testing of culture media in accordance with DIN EN ISO 11133 and the European Pharmacopoeia, in addition to the tests," explains Paul Andrei, Managing Director of the BAV Institute.

The BAV Institute now meets all regulatory requirements in order to be able to offer partner laboratories and customers high-quality culture media with a test certificate. A corresponding study on the shelf life and transport of our culture media has already been successfully completed.

This extension of the accreditation certificate with regard to culture media production and testing is an important advantage for customers and partners. The new accreditation certificate is expected to be available by the end of the year.
