We add our mustard!

Whether sweet, medium hot, hot or Dijon mustard - we love them all! With sausages or meat loaf, in a vinaigrette or sauce - mustard is versatile and extremely popular. This basically consists of mustard seeds, vinegar, sugar and various spices.

Yellow and brown mustard seeds are used to make medium-hot mustard. In a recent test, medium-spicy conventional and organic mustards were checked. Glyphosate was found in 10 of the 13 conventional mustards. Glyphosate is an active ingredient in pesticides used to kill weeds, which is approved in the EU until 2022. According to the World Health Organization's Cancer Agency, glyphosate is "likely to cause cancer" to humans. However, the BfR assesses glyphosate as not carcinogenic when used properly.

No off-flavors or deviations were found during the sensory examination of the products. An off-flavor can be an undesirable smell or taste that can arise during storage or production.

Bilacon supports you in all analyzes of your mustard - from the raw material to the processed product. In addition to sensory testing and analysis for glyphosate and other pesticides, we offer you microbiological, physical-chemical analyzes and labeling tests.
