For you, our customers, nothing will change today except the name. You will soon benefit from extensive investments in our core products as well as new, innovative products. We will keep you up to date on this over the next few weeks.

The reason for this change is the decision of the shareholders of the global 1WorldSync to sell the US division of the company, 1WorldSync Inc., to an investor. At the same time, this means that GS1 Germany no longer holds any shares in 1WorldSync Inc. and GS1 US will completely withdraw from the business of 1WorldSync GmbH. A major factor in this decision are the different developments in the US and European markets. While in Germany and Europe the harmonization of requirements for data exchange via community work (and e.g. resulting target market profiles) is advancing, in the USA it is mainly a service offering market that is characterized by diverse individual requirements of individual dealers for data without uniform Target market profiles.
