In-vitro diagnostic means a medical device that is used as a reagent, reagent product, calibrator, control material, kit, instrument, apparatus, device, software or system, individually or in conjunction with one another, by the manufacturer for the in-vitro examination of samples from the human body, including blood and tissue donation, is intended and exclusively or mainly serves to provide information on one or more of the following points: about physiological or pathological processes or conditions, about congenital physical or mental impairments, about the predisposition for a certain health condition or a certain disease , to determine the safety and tolerability of the potential recipients, about the likely effect of a treatment or the likely reactions to it, or to determine or monitor therapeutic measures.
