Additive manufacturing offers many new possibilities. In order to fully exploit this potential, the use of an innovative CAD / CAM solution is essential. This is where hyper MILL ^® comes into play. With our innovative strategies, processes in this manufacturing environment can be controlled efficiently and flexibly.

Two different processes have become established in additive manufacturing. With powder bed technology - Powder Bed Fusion (PBF) - the components are generated by printing in layers in a powder bed. Here, OPEN MIND is the ideal solution provider who, with its CAD / CAM software, can be seamlessly integrated into the process chain for post-processing of printed parts.

In the powder nozzle process - Direct Energy Deposition (DED) - the material is fed in as powder or wire and melted onto the component using a laser. hyper MILL ^® ADDITIVE Manufacturing actively controls the material application and thus ensures the best results.

Hybrid machining is a specialty of additive manufacturing. Many manufacturers already integrate a laser processing head into their CNC machines. This combination of additive and subtractive processes results in completely new areas of application. With its strategies and the reliable simulation of material deposition and removal, hyper MILL ^® offers the perfect solution for fully exploiting the immense potential of hybrid manufacturing. A highlight: With hyperMILL ^® BEST FIT, we have intelligent component alignment in the CAM software in order to adapt the NC code exactly to the real component position.
