This is how quantum coblation works - low temperature plasma excision
Quantum Coblation is a controlled, non-heat-controlled process. Bipolar radio frequency energy is applied to a conductive medium (usually a saline solution) to create a precisely focused, charged plasma field. The plasma field has enough energy to break the molecular bonds in the tissue. The tissue is dissolved at relatively low temperatures (40 ° - 70 ° C). Because RF current does not flow directly through the tissue during the coblation process, tissue heating is minimal. The result is volumetric ablation of the target tissue with minimal damage to surrounding, healthy tissue.

Ambient ◊ technology
Ambient◊ technology electrodes provide accurate, real-time temperature monitoring of the intra-articular irrigation fluid. The current temperature of the liquid is continuously displayed on the control unit's LCD display. As soon as the temperature in the joint space exceeds the control value set by the operator, the control unit triggers optical and acoustic alarms that provide the surgeon with direct feedback.
