Pharmaceutical companies: stability tests in constant climate chambers

Never before have vaccines been developed at such a rapid pace as at the moment in the corona pandemic. Some like BioNTech and Pfizer are already on the market and will be inoculated as soon as possible. But what about the shelf life of the various vaccines? This is exactly what the major pharmaceutical manufacturers check in constant climate chambers from BINDER. Stress tests and long-term tests of and with new drugs are prescribed by the approving authorities.

It usually takes between ten and twenty years to develop a vaccine. This time does not remain during the Corona crisis. The number of people infected and also the number of deaths is too high. The call for a quick vaccination campaign is therefore getting louder.

In the meantime, the pharmaceutical companies hardly keep up with production, but at the same time concentrate on analyzing the stability of the vaccines. After all, the corona vaccines will have to be around for a long time, of course always adapted to certain viral changes. And this is how it works in practice: The stability tests take place, for example, in a KBF or in a KBF LQC, i.e. in a constant climate cabinet with ICH-compliant lighting and light dose control.

And why do the big pharmaceutical companies rely on BINDER? One reason is that the cabinets from Tuttlingen can be used for testing in accordance with the ICH guidelines. In addition, the BINDER cabinets have a large interior so that a number of samples can be stressed at the same time. On top of that comes the temperature accuracy of the constant climate chambers , which are characterized by absolutely stable storage conditions. The homogeneous temperature distribution is also very much appreciated by experts for this type of test.

The aim of the pharmaceutical companies is: to be able to confirm the effectiveness of the vaccines to the approving authorities. And because a lot is at stake, you rely on BINDER equipment. In this way, accurate test results are guaranteed!
