The BINDER vacuum drying ovens enable effective and gentle drying without endangering sensitive materials. Depending on the individual application, samples and models can be dried with flammable and non-flammable solvents.
Different pumps are required for this process, all of which BINDER has in its range. All pumps are oil-free chemical diaphragm pumps that are resistant to a wide range of chemicals. They are available in 120 or 230 volt versions, and the membranes (wearing parts) of all pumps can also be changed by the user himself. With an excellent service network, BINDER offers the option of having the pump serviced and checked on site.
The vacuum pump VAP 1 has two stages with a nominal pumping speed of 2.0 cubic meters per hour and achieves an ultimate vacuum of seven millibars. It is designed for drying aqueous, non-flammable solvents and is suitable for all device sizes of the VD series where only small quantities have to be dried.
For larger quantities of aqueous solvents, we recommend the VAP 2 pump, which, with a nominal pumping speed of 4.0 cubic meters per hour, ensures drying that is twice as fast. This three-stage pump also achieves a final vacuum of 1.8 millibars, making it particularly suitable for drying at room temperature or when the material to be dried has a poor thermal connection.
The explosion-proof pump VAP 5 is brand new in our range for drying flammable solvents. This is something we at BINDER are particularly proud of: it fully complies with the latest explosion protection standards (ATEX) and is optimally designed for operation with the VDL series vacuum drying ovens, which are also ATEX-compliant. Its nominal pumping speed is 3.6 cubic meters per hour and it achieves an ultimate vacuum of less than two millibars. The pump can be installed in a category 3 environment (rare occurrence of an explosive atmosphere). When operating the pump with additional inert gas flushing, it may even be set up in a category 2 environment (occasional occurrence of an explosive atmosphere).
