The new battery test cabinet from BINDER

The testing of rechargeable batteries, batteries or other energy storage devices is becoming increasingly important, especially in times of e-mobility. Large automobile manufacturers such as VW or BMW are setting up their own test centers for this purpose. These in turn have to be equipped with products that have one thing above all else: a security concept.

BINDER from Tuttlingen produces exactly these battery test cabinets. The Tuttlingen-based world market leader has had the battery test cabinet with Package S in its range since May. These cabinets have a sophisticated safety concept and at the same time they meet the requirements of EUCAR Hazard Level 6. The head of product management explains the introduction as follows: “We are constantly expanding our range in the battery testing area,” says Harald Schädler. And further: "On the one hand, this cabinet has additional, high-quality standard components, on the other hand, it leaves enough space for customer-specific requirements, which can be implemented using BINDER INDIVIDUAL."

And what makes the new cupboard so special? The new LIT cabinet includes package S, which covers the previous packages A and P and also has sophisticated, high-quality security functions. In this design, the cabinet has four detectors which measure the atmosphere in the interior of the cabinet with regard to oxygen, hydrogen, carbon monoxide and temperature and which are operated via a separate control. If the adjustable threshold values are exceeded in the event of a cell failure, the cabinet reacts promptly and activates its security concept. With the CO 2 bottle mounted on the side, for example, the interior can be rinsed and a cell can be burned down in a controlled manner. An exhaust air flap is also provided for this case. In addition, the Lit also has the option of inerting with nitrogen, which may or may not be used depending on the application.

Since the applications in battery testing are often very different, BINDER also offers individual adaptation options for this model, which are implemented by BINDER INDIVIDUAL. The set temperature range for these cabinets is usually from minus 20 ° C to plus 60 ° C. The LIT also fully complies with the following standards: UN 38.3, IEC 62660-1, IEC 62660-2, IEC 62660-3, IEC 62619, IEC 62620, ISO 12405-4. If you need a powerful, versatile and safe battery test cabinet, then you have come to the right place with this product.
