Tuttlingen – The vision process for the medical technology industry initiated by MedicalMountains GmbH is entering the next stage: Based on the findings of the previous months, the recommendations for action will be specified this year. The title of the first workshop on April 29 can be seen as the guiding principle for the rest of the way: "Think big."
"Be brave, think big": This was the impulse given by futurologist Dr. At the closing event in 2021, Jörg Wallner gave the participants the courage to continue working on a positive vision of the future for medical technology. Giving space to the visions - this will happen in the coming months in a figurative sense, but also in a very concrete way at the next workshop. "We have a total of five topic clusters for which we are jointly developing recommendations for action," report MedicalMountains Managing Director Yvonne Glienke and Department Head Britta Norwat, "and the first appointment is about regional identity and thinking big." "Thinking big “ means: On the one hand, the industry is firmly rooted, both spatially at its locations and in its grown operational structures. On the other hand, it is cosmopolitan and a global player in the markets. These aspects are assets from the past for the future. However, the question also arises as to how a more rural region can position itself in competition with the global high-tech metropolises. The recommendations for action are intended to create a balance between these poles. "I'm curious to see what results will be achieved," says Yvonne Glienke.
The workshop is the first public event, although not the only one, that has already taken place in 2022. In two meetings, ideas on values and a common motto were collected. "The qualities of the industry that are desirable and worth preserving are very important for the recommendations for action," explains Britta Norwat, "because values are the guiding principles of our attitudes and therefore also of our actions." Accordingly, they will be key points in order to make the vision of the future become reality. As in the first stages of the vision process, Elke Schlimbach (kommunika GmbH) will moderate.
The “Think Bigger” workshop will take place on Friday, April 29 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Tuttlingen town hall. Participants who have already contributed to the vision process are welcome, as are newcomers.
