Additive manufacturing certificate course: well-founded theory, hands-on practice

Tuttlingen – Additive manufacturing processes are among the major future fields of the industry. New geometries, extended functionalities and the possibilities of individualization have enormous potential for innovation. The "Additive Manufacturing in Medical Technology" certificate course, which starts on June 22, opens the door to making the technologies usable, especially for small and medium-sized companies: just as compact as it is detailed, well-founded in theory and hands-on in practice.

The participants gain know-how, insights and decision-making aids as to the extent to which existing products can be manufactured additively in the future or new product ideas can be realised. The basis for this are introductions to materials, technologies, design, construction and quality assurance and, above all, two practical days: to plastic components at 3D-Labs in St. Georgen to metal components at Diener Implants in Tuttlingen - from setting up the machines to the printing process to the surface finish. The seminar days at a glance:

  • 06/22/2021 Introduction: Materials and Technologies
  • 06/29/2021 Design: Construction guidelines and topology optimization
  • 07/06/2021 Software: Design of additively manufactured components
  • 07/13/2021 Additive manufacturing of plastic components (practical day at 3D-Labs in St. Georgen)
  • 07/20/2021 Additive manufacturing of metal components (practical day at Diener Implants in Tuttlingen)
  • 07/27/2021 Quality Assurance

Participants who live or work in Baden-Württemberg have the option of reducing the participation fee by up to 70% through the “Specialist Courses” funding program!
