Feedback promotes forest project

Tuttlingen - give feedback and do good - this is the motto MedicalMountains GmbH follows at its training events: For every 20th feedback received, a tree is planted in central Ghana. The first seedlings could be commissioned recently.

The action has a dual purpose. "On the one hand, we are very grateful for the assessments and experiences of the participants, in order to be able to prove our quality standard and to be able to further develop our content," says Ulrike Viertel-Kenar from MedicalMountains GmbH. On the other hand, people have long thought about how the aspect of sustainability can be expanded in the company. The idea: Every piece of feedback should contribute to a reforestation project. The right partner has been found with "click a tree": The organization based in Radolfzell on Lake Constance has dedicated itself to the task of planting trees in Ghana, Thailand and the Philippines - not only to actively counteract climate change, but also to provide habitat for endangered species as well as full-time jobs for local communities. "This concept convinced us because it reflects 'sustainability' as we understand it: think comprehensively, act far-sightedly and achieve lasting effects," summarizes MedicalMountains Managing Director Yvonne Glienke.

Ghana has been selected as the target country. In the centrally located Volta region, “click a tree” planted 20 different species such as baobab and neem trees, shea nuts and mahogany, but also banana trees, cashew nuts and moringa, from whose seeds oil is extracted. This system is called "syntropic afforestation". With two factors benefiting each other, not only forest grows, but also a source of food and income for the local people. A school that teaches young Ghanaians the basics of entrepreneurship is also supported.

The first eight trees were recently planted on behalf of MedicalMountains GmbH. "Making a sustainable contribution to the climate, nature and society spurs us on and certainly also the participants," Yvonne Glienke is convinced, because with every vote you get closer to the next tribe. "The motivation is growing" - this statement will have a completely new meaning at MedicalMountains GmbH from now on.
