Tuttlingen – Digitization from A to Z, from audits to approval procedures: The first information market of possibilities informed around 90 participants in the Tuttlingen town hall which solutions for quality management and regulatory affairs are already on the market. Unanimous wish: The tools should give more freedom to develop, manufacture and market medical devices.

At the latest during the course of the corona pandemic, it had become clear that digitization is important, but by no means everyone "had started to act", explained Heike Krüger from Metecon-DigiLab in her opening lecture. Maybe there is a lack of expertise, maybe the project seems too big - but maybe the decisive impetus to take the first step is missing. MedicalMountains GmbH made these short impulses part of the program and initially let the providers involved in five-minute pitches on stage at the information market. What was presented was amazing - both in terms of the range of possible applications and the depth of detail. Anyone interested in quality management support could take a closer look at solutions for document management, control and archiving, for audits and complaint management. Digital helpers for regulatory affairs included, for example, risk management, post-market surveillance and international approval procedures. Tools for all technical documentation and ERP systems moved at the interfaces, but also process simulations with high-performance computers.

"Interesting, entertaining, high speed and very effective. It was really fun,” was the assessment of one provider after the first information market – underscored by the fact that presentations and discussions continued at the exhibitor stands well into the afternoon. "We deliberately dared to try a different format and are very happy that it was so well received," MedicalMountains Managing Director Julia Steckeler looks back. It was characteristic that the buzzer for the five-minute limit only had to be pressed twice. “The speakers accepted this challenge. This immediately created a completely different atmosphere for the conversation.” The participants from all over Germany, from small as well as large companies, received the essential information in a compact form so that they could then search for the “deep dive” in a personal exchange. You could literally feel how ideas were formed and concretized - also for colleagues from other areas, as was repeatedly heard. "Goal achieved", Julia Steckeler is happy about the positive feedback on the information market. Against this background, a repetition has already been decided: The second edition will take place on May 4th, 2023.
