Tuttlingen – The program for the 14th Innovation Forum Medical Technology is complete: It once again spans the spectrum from questions about advanced materials and processes to questions about processing and purity to forward-looking technologies, with this year a closer look at the possibilities of virtual and augmented Reality are thrown - including "playing style" for visitors.

The motto of the event is “Together TOP in medical technology – impulses. ideas. Innovations.”, and the participants can once again expect a great deal from the last three buzzwords. The lectures are distributed over the large hall of the Tuttlingen town hall, the conference hall and the Innocamp on the forecourt. Three sessions will take place each time, with lectures on the Open Stages added, as in the past two years. All in all, a well-packaged package of information, insights and findings on research and companies.

The keynote in the morning already points to one of the Innovation Forum's focal points. Prof. Dr. medical Wolfram Lamadé, chief physician for general, visceral and vascular surgery at the Helios Klinikum Pforzheim GmbH, talks about "Augmented Reality - A quantum leap in surgery and the obstacles that arise". The complex will be supplemented, deepened and discussed on the one hand in a lecture session, on the other hand on the "playground" in Studio 39: During the breaks, visitors can put on glasses themselves to experience and try out virtual reality live.

Other topics of the day include robots and cobots in industry and clinics, digital support solutions for development or in the operating room, and practical examples of the use of artificial intelligence. Innovative materials, coatings, surfaces and manufacturing processes as well as cleanliness and sterilization also have their place in the program as well as the question of a sustainable design of the future of the industry. A session is dedicated to different approaches; In his keynote speech, Frank Dzukowski, head of the Sustainability and Climate Management department at the Hamburg-Eppendorf University Hospital, gives an example of how the issue is approached strategically and operationally at the facility. And: The student research center in Tuttlingen is again part of the party and presents the broad and top promotion of the MINT young people in the region.
