Innovation Forum Medical Technology: News compact

Tuttlingen – The 13th edition will take place on October 21: 2021 will once again bring innovations to the Innovation Forum Medical Technology. Partly because the organizers MedicalMountains GmbH, TechnologyMountains eV and IHK Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg are making adjustments based on the experiences of previous years - partly, as this year, changes are induced from outside.

Exhibitor
"There is so much interest from exhibitors that we have to add something for the first time," says Yvonne Glienke, Managing Director of MedicalMountains GmbH. The areas normally available were fully booked within a very short time - a circumstance that was counteracted with a "creative expansion": A large tent is set up in front of the town hall, the so-called "InnoCamp", in which more than two dozen of the almost 70 exhibitors will find space.

lectures
The “Call for Proposals”, the call for content-related contributions for the forum, was also very popular. Here, too, the motto is: expand the range. "We now have a total of 40 presentations in nine sessions," says department head Britta Norwat. The topics range from additive manufacturing and the use of artificial intelligence - "the topic of the hour", according to Britta Norwat - to materials and coatings through to process and product innovations.

sustainability
What also stands out in the program is that an entire block of lectures is dedicated to resource conservation and sustainability. These aspects were the focus of attention for the first time last year as part of the Open Stage.

Open Stages
There are two of these "open stages" in the current edition. Among other things, they are about MDR support, innovation, but also the promotion of young people: the student research center in Tuttlingen is represented by several teams, including the European champions in the RoboCup.

networks
You can feel the anticipation of personal encounters, report Yvonne Glienke and Britta Norwat. This is taken into account: "A lot of time is set aside for networking in the program, four hours in total," says Britta Norwat, looking back at the business breakfast, the breaks and the get-together at the end. The guided tour also brings guests and exhibitors directly into dialogue. "So there are many opportunities to approach others, get to know participants or cultivate contacts" - because with currently more than 400 registrations, the 13th edition is heading for a visitor record.

warm up
The evening before the event on October 20 is also in this spirit. During the warm-up for registered forum participants, current technological developments will be discussed and then chatted over a glass of wine - which comes from Saarland, the partner country of this year's forum.
