International professionals: Welcome Center offers support

Tuttlingen - Some people don't know what's on offer: The Welcome Center Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg & Hochrhein-Bodensee supports companies with questions about recruiting and integrating international specialists and other topics. The team is also there to help the international specialists themselves.

With the introduction of the Skilled Immigration Act (FEG) in March 2020, access to the labor market for skilled workers from countries outside the European Union was made easier in order to counteract the shortage of skilled workers. Due to the corona pandemic, the problem of the shortage of skilled workers has receded into the background, but it can be assumed that the situation will worsen again after the pandemic.

The Welcome Center Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg & Hochrhein-Bodensee supports companies with questions about recruiting and integrating international skilled workers and advises on topics such as accelerated skilled worker procedures, residence regulations and recognition procedures. Furthermore, there is information on recruitment opportunities and support in the integration of international specialists and trainees.

The Welcome Center team is also available to help international professionals and their families with any questions they may have about living and working in the region. Advice is given on job hunting, language courses, housing, school, childcare and leisure time in English, French, Spanish, Italian, Armenian and Russian. In addition, the Welcome Center strengthens a culture of welcome in the region by networking regional actors and making offers for foreign professionals more visible.

The Welcome Center is an institution of the Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg Economic Development Agency and the IHK Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg. It is one of a total of 10 Welcome Centers in Baden-Württemberg and is funded by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labor and Housing. The service center has been active in the Tuttlingen, Rottweil and Black Forest districts since 2014 and has also been in charge of the Konstanz, Lörrach and Waldshut districts since July 2019.
