Tuttlingen - 23 providers and one goal: to support medical technology companies with digital solutions to meet the requirements of quality management and regulatory affairs faster, more effectively and more securely. The approximately 100 participants at the 2nd information market of the possibilities of MedicalMountains GmbH in the Tuttlingen town hall found out how it works and what is possible.

"I didn't expect that," admitted MedicalMountains Managing Director Julia Steckeler at the beginning. The format had been held for the first time about seven months ago and now, with the second edition, the number of participants was the same. It was obvious where the continued high demand came from. The aim is to "make things easier for the company, both on a financial and a personal level," summarized Julia Steckeler - so that highly qualified employees can finally devote themselves to their core business again and don't have to deal with "paperwork". A quick survey showed the trends. For about a third of those present, the final step towards digitization was still pending. Most of those who have already done it have used one or two solutions. Obstacles on the way were mostly the complexity of the systems and solutions, the selection of the right partner and the cost/benefit ratio. Points that could be addressed in the information market of possibilities. The four-minute pitches from the providers initially provided guidance; Detailed questions were then deepened in a four-eye dialogue.

Once again it became clear that the range of possibilities is large and continues to grow. Starting with design control, quality assurance and management systems via UDI, the fulfillment of international guidelines and standards management to risk management, technical documentation or post-market surveillance, supplemented by audit management, document checking and "Software as a Service", to name just a few. One aspect was important to Julia Steckeler: The solutions would have to be broken down in such a way “that they are also affordable and work for smaller companies.” The many talks and discussions with the providers present, but also between the participants, showed that the appeal was fruitful. Does the tool have to adapt to the process or vice versa? How can different solutions be integrated and linked to each other? And how long will it be before the surrounding regulatory system allows full digital exchange? There were many questions and answers, and a quote from Mark Twain that had been mentioned in one of the pitches was recalled several times: "The secret of success is to start."
