Ferrières-en-Brie, France / Balzers, Liechtenstein, November 29, 2023 - The Ferrières-en-Brie site in France, part of Oerlikon Balzers, a technology brand of Oerlikon and a leading provider of surface solutions, recently underwent an audit and the Received Nadcap Merit status for all of its coating technology for an additional 24 months. Merit status extends the audit cycle for re-accreditation and is according to the performance managed by Nadcap
Accreditation and qualification in aerospace is tied to numerous standards, quality and performance requirements. These are subject to extensive checks and audits.
Nadcap accredited with Merit Status until August 2025
Nadcap (National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program) is a global program in the aerospace industry that verifies compliance with industry standards, best practices and customer requirements. By achieving Supplier Merit status, the Oerlikon Balzers customer center in Ferrières-en-Brie has extended its re-accreditation audit by 24 months until the end of August 2025.
Oerlikon Balzers' comprehensive portfolio for the aerospace industry includes PVD coating solutions for precision components as well as PVD and carbon-based coatings such as DLC for aircraft system components. In addition, the site has developed technology for high-gloss polishing and an automated quality control process for large-volume parts such as compressor blades for aircraft engines.
A total of four Oerlikon Balzers customer centers are Nadcap accredited and offer world-class coating solutions and services to the aerospace industry: Milton Keynes (UK), Guelph (Canada), Niederkorn (Luxembourg) and Ferrières-en-Brie (France).
