Oerlikon Balzers signs 10-year contract with ITP Aero: new wear-resistant and high-temperature resistant PVD coating for next-generation engine components from ITP Aero

Balzers, Liechtenstein / Querétaro, Mexico, June 21, 2023 – Oerlikon Balzers, a leading brand for Oerlikon surface solutions, has signed a 10-year contract with ITP Aero to coat engine components with the new wear-resistant and high-temperature resistant BALORA TECH PVD coating PRO signed. The components will be used in Pratt & Whitney Canada's PW800 turbo engine, which powers the new Gulfstream G500/G600 and Dassault Falcon 6X business jets

For Oerlikon Balzers, this long-term contract means another important step in supplying the aerospace industry with advanced surface technologies and coatings from multiple locations worldwide. ITP Aero, a leader in the global aerospace industry, will benefit from the industrialization level and expertise of a world leader in thin film coatings and physical vapor deposition (PVD) equipment. The partnership helps ITP Aero to achieve constant and reproducible quality with short lead times. This is the first step in an ongoing collaboration with ITP Aero to support growth plans in Mexico.
