MedicalMountains GmbH welcomes and supports the Commission's legislative proposal, says Managing Director Julia Steckeler: "We consider it an essential measure to quickly and legally meet the imminent shortage of proven medical devices in Europe and the associated risk to public health." The primary goal is now to adopt the proposal as quickly as possible. "The step is the right one," Julia Steckeler sums up, "and more must follow." Extended transition periods alone could not solve the structural problems of the MDR. Questions about increased costs and requirements, niche products and innovations are still open.
During the recent visit to the EU Parliament in Strasbourg, Julia Steckeler and Meinrad Kempf (MedicalMountains GmbH) together with Dr. Martin Leonhard (SPECTARIS) deepen these and other topics. They exchanged views with Prof. Angelika Niebler and Andras Schwab, among others, who belong to the European People's Party.
